Independent Research Project: Management/Marketing
(30 CREDITS)

This module offers the chance to put your knowledge into practice by undertaking an independent research project on a management or marketing issue. You develop your research skills, time management and critical thinking ability to prepare you for the world of work beyond graduation.

Cooperative Management and Marketing – Capstone Module
(15 CREDITS)

This Capstone Module provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge about managing and marketing cooperative and worker-owned businesses. It offers students the academic knowledge and practical experience to effectively promote consensus and democratic based collective decision-making as well as balancing revenue production while maximising social impact. It will also explore how collaborative advantage and cooperative networks can be used as sources of enhanced value creation for improving processes, services, and products. Students complete an independent research project working closely with a cooperative organisation of their choice. Students will actively use the links between the knowledge and skills developed in their academic course to inform a research project based on a specified organisational challenge experienced by their chosen cooperative organisation. This is a full year module available only to students in the Essex Business School undertaking an independent research project, replacing the standard final year project (BE938).

The University makes every effort to ensure that this information on its programme specification is accurate and up-to-date.
